Letter to Members - Covid 19 Measures
To our Valued Members & Customers
We are beyond grateful for your continued support and loyalty to the Boyup Brook Co-op, especially in the past couple of years since Covid-19 has been affecting our lives.
All of us at the Boyup Brook Co-op are dedicated to the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees, members, customers and our community as a whole.
With Covid-19 presenting a real and present challenge to our health and our way of life, actions must be taken to ensure we are operating in a COVID-safe way. We acknowledge that additional precautions are required to mitigate the introduction and spread of COVID-19.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of Western Australians who have tested positive to the highly contagious Omicron variant of Covid-19. This is an obvious concern of ours, not only for everyone’s health but also for the day to day running of our Co-op. We have welcomed the recent changes on the 8/02/22 to the Government’s “close contact” rules and we feel that the new guidelines assist us in the management of our store.
- Measures already in place at the Co-op -
- Everyone must wear a mask upon entry to all Co-op sites, including our warehouses. *Please note that proof of vaccination is not currently mandatory for entry to our premises.
- Scanning QR codes by use of various apps (including SafeWA and ServiceWA), or manually signing in on the provided forms at our main entry.
- There are adequate hand sanitising stations to allow for staff and visitors to practice good hygiene.
- Posters and Signs are in place as a guide of current policies and procedures for all staff, members and customers, contractors and delivery personnel.
- Possible future measures -
If case numbers increase locally to higher levels, to minimise the risk of exposure to staff, we may implement further measures, such as restrict customer foot traffic inside the Co-op showroom and warehouses.
I realise that this will be seen as an inconvenience to some of our customers, but having to close the shop fully for a period of time would be a far greater inconvenience. There is also no guarantee that implementing a measure such as this will safeguard us against exposure, as we all have other points of contact in our lives.
With this in mind, can we please ask for you to think ahead of any upcoming requirements you might have and try to be prepared for at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Please also take into consideration the time it is taking for some of these goods to be shipped, if they are available at all, as supplies continue to be delayed. I am certainly not suggesting for you to panic, just be prepared as best as you can!!
By working together, we have the best chance of making it through this difficult time.
Yours Sincerely
Travis Reid
Manager of the Boyup Brook Co-op
