EID Tags for 2025 Season Lambs & Goats

As you are likely aware, over the past couple of years the Federal and State Governments had set in place a transition into mandatory EID tags for sheep and goats. 

We have now reached the stage of mandatory EID tags for all new lambs and kids born. Therefore ALL sheep and goats born after 1st January 2025 now require an EID tag before they leave your property or before 6 months of age. There are no exemptions to this rule and it will apply to all classes of sheep and goat, even those going direct to slaughter. 

This year's tag colour is WHITE and the Government's Tag Incentive Payment rebate scheme still applies to certain approved White EID tags this year. For sheep born BEFORE 1st January 2025 you have until 30th June 2026 to either sell the sheep or retag with an EID tag before it will become mandatory.
